Dear Members,

We hope everyone is having a good summer! There are a few things I would like to addresss.

1- We will be starting ice time on Oct. 1st, (Thursday) at 7pm. The schedule for 2009-2010 season is Monday 8:30-9:50pm and Thursday at 7-8:20pm. Check back for possible changes.

2- The MASA and East Penn club have recently lost a valued member, Brian Hahl. Click on this link Brian Hahl was known as BGOS (Big Guy On Skates) as he stood at 6' 7" tall, and even taller when on skates. He was the President of the East Penn club for the last 2 years and loved to skate and bike. There will be a memorial service on Sat. July 18th as noted in the link, for those who have not yet been made aware and will want to pay their respects. Brian will be missed by all he touched. 3- For those who might wish to do some skating over the summer, there is some ice time available at the Bethpage ice rink on Wednesdays from 4-5:45pm, from July 1 thru Sept. 2nd. There are NO pads and this is strictly for people wishing to work on their technique. There will also not be any coaching or any sort of organization of the session. Skating is completely wat your own risk and is not associated with the Flushing Meadows Speed Skating Club.
